Can't resize the KS Window on Windows 10 anymore.

Hi there,
I am using KS10 Pro on a 49" Ultrawide screen on Windows 10 and I can’t resize the KS Window anymore (make smaller in width and height).

KS can only go full-screen or just a bit smaller than full-screen, nothing else. If I go to the edges of the KS window I get the resize arrows but I can’t make the window smaller.

Clicking several times on the Minimize and Maximize Icons on the top right of the KS window does not help (as it sometimes used to in the past).

What can be the issue? It worked just fine some weeks ago.

Hi,
I don’t think we have seen this particular issue before, so I am not sure if this will help, but Window scaling in KeyShot (especially in KS10) is also dependent on your display scaling.

You can try to set your scaling up or down in your Windows Display Settings and restart KeyShot to see if that helps.

I’m not sure but do you maybe have selected a very high resolution below the ‘image’ button/tab? That will also block you from resizing the KS window. At least, I had the same yesterday with KS2023.3.

I think it would be nicer in a usability way if they were independent so you could scale the window anyway it would just crop your view a bit (like you select a certain region to render).

Lol, like really? That was it!
I did not specify a high resolution in the image tab beforehand, it might have adapted it due to my screen resolution (5120x1440)?

Thanks Oscar, you are a life saver

KS should def override that setting.

If you have ‘lock resolution’ enabled (from the image menu drop-down), this will prevent you from changing the UI size to be smaller than that resolution. Easy mistake to make!

Good to know too, thanks Will!

Yeah well, it was still fresh in my memory  Like Will says, I try to disable the lock icon itself but think it’s on by default.

Do you like the UltraWide? Just curious. I’ve 3x24" and I’ve always the feeling that the physical border make it a bit easier for me to organise the desktop and put apps and their panels on a certain place. But never used an ultrawide so not sure how that will work for me.

I’ve 2 24’s and have gone as big as 2 27’s, but with those the outer 3" left and right rarely got my eyeballs. I’m with Oscar, the 2 montior helps me split my workspace, but I’d be interested in trying a single ultra wide just to see how it is. I don’t thnk it would be anything revolutionary in my work other than making my wallet lighter.

I did edit on an Avid Symphony on a 32" crt screen many moons ago, and that was the biggest thrill of my life back then aside of successfully striping all 12 of my 9gb SCSI Avid drives together.

I like the Ultrawide actually for exactly the reason that I have no split in-between. I do have 2x 4k 28" in the office and the 49" is in the home office. But, in the office I sit a bit more to the left looking at the center of the table and therefore I mainly “work” on the left screen and have the right screen as an add-on.

Where with the 49" setup I am sitting in the center and can nicely work centered on the screen and have 2 dedicated screen sections on the left and right side that can “snap” any window/app you put in that section just by pressing the SHIFT key (then the sections you have pre-defined light up and you can choose in what section you want to place your content). You can do that super nicely with Samsungs Easy Settings Box:

But I really look forward to newer models with a better resolution like the Samsung Neo G95NC with 7680 x 2160p.
